My dentist has a saying "Sip all day, get decay." I had to give up pop when I was having a sensitivity to caffeine. It was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Now I only share the occasional root beer with my hubby when we go to the theater. I don't think of pop as a drink anymore. I think of it as liquid candy.
And yes, here in Michigan, we call it pop, not soda. Soda is what you keep in the fridge to keep the odors down.
